Least Becomes Best

A simple man works with his hands for a living,
Thoughtful, well spoken, honest and forgiving,
He’s but one of a people, a face in the crowd,
But he was the Sun that shone through the cloud,
Though he worked a long day with hammer and saw,
This once unknown man became our Lord.

From dawn to dusk away from their homes,
On waters unforgiving, wet with salt spray and foam,
Hard men of the sea survive day to day,
On the sales of the catch brought into the bay,
The odds stacked against these men were colossal,
But a merciful God made these fishers Apostles.

From man’s first beginnings it’s been the same,
God chooses his servants and they’ve always came,
But they’ve one thing in common these men who stand tall,
They were low among men when they heard the Lord’s call,
But covered by grace beneath the Lord’s wing,
The weak become strong and can do anything.

Although time has passed, God’s Word remains clear,
So if you are lowly and weak do not fear,
For you are the ones that God can use best use,
So answer his call, you’ve got nothing to lose,
You can only go higher from where you are,
Walk away from self doubt and with the Lord you’ll go far.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Jesus went from being Jesus the Carpenter to being The Lord Jesus Christ. A bunch of fishermen became the greatest Preachers and Evangelists in the worlds history. Don’t despair if you have no glory of your own and you feel as if you are just a small cog in a big wheel. Just go with God and you’ll see that the meek really do inherit the Earth.
