Forgive And Forget

Forgive and forget the saying goes,
But how many actually do.
We may think we’ve cast off our grudges and woes,
But the spirit when searched shows us true.

If we go to the Lord with hearts unforgiving,
His back he will turn to our face.
We’ll be judged as unfit to be counted as living,
Banished. Eternally cut off from God’s grace.

So let’s clean out our houses, get rid of the dirt,
Forgive unconditionally all wrongs.
And the Lord we will meet without sorrow or hurt,
Reunited at home where we belong.

AUTHORS NOTE:
To hold a grudge against someone is dangerous friends. The anger it creates binds our spirit and weighs us down. Release from this bondage can only be achieved with the sincere forgiveness required by the Lord toward all other people, weather they are saved or not. I know by experience that this is not easy. I struggle daily with my feelings to suppress this most dangerous and stealthy weapon of the enemy. It helps to remember that as Jesus suffered on the cross he had no feelings of hatred or resentment toward any of his tormentors, so what right have we to hold a grudge against our fellow man!!
