God's Children

Our children are not ours but God’s,
He gave them life,
We make the flesh but not the spirit you see.
For God who is the Father of all,
Has put them in our care,
So let’s do it right, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Don’t shout and curse and grind them down,
That’s not the way,
Just ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?”
Then take a breath and cool the fire,
Firm disciplines the key,
To allow God’s perfect light to shine on through.

Don’t intimidate, threaten, belittle or deprive,
That is harmful,
How would you react to such a master?
But show due benevolence with lots of love,
As the Lord shows you,
And watch their spirits grow so much faster.

Build and edify, teach God’s ways,
Show the true path,
Guide them through the worldly trials.
Let Christ’s example be your rock,
Do not waver,
Teach them to shun and know Satan’s wiles.

Do not abuse the trust of the Lord,
Be diligent and sure,
Cherish and keep your God’s gift to you.
For the fault will be your if one is to stray,
And remember,
Be their example, be strong and be true.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Our children depend on us for a lot of things. Apart from the basic necessities of life they rely on us for leadership, discipline, comfort and knowledge. We must strive to ensure that they learn the right things from us because if they don’t, they will grow up apart from God and will end up dying the death. For the sake of our kids and ourselves, lets do our absolute best to teach them Godly ways.
