In the garden of plenty man served his Creator,
As caretaker master of all.
A son of God, no position is greater,
Happy to be at the Lord’s beck and call.
Beasts were created and presented to man,
He named them but no helper was found.
With mans rib while he slept God invented woman,
Henceforth trouble and stress were around.
Together they shared a comfortable life,
The Lord had provided all things.
Though naked no shame was on man and his wife,
In God’s fellowship and love they were Kings.
Then along came that Serpent to kick up a fuss,
The Woman he persuaded to err.
Man followed suite, in himself he did trust,
So they both ended up in the stir.
When the fruit was eaten and opened their eyes,
Their nakedness sprang into being.
To the bushes they ran to put on a disguise,
So God’s presence would pass without seeing.
But God saw and he knew the events taking place,
Man and Woman’s confessions confirmed it.
From the garden removed to exist in disgrace,
Cursed and banished, cut off from God’s Spirit.
To this day we live under the original curse,
Men work and in birth, Women have pain.
We fight with the Serpent, him we cannot disperse,
Until with God were reunited again.
AUTHORS NOTE:
Man, through his own sin, cut himself and his descendants off from the presence of God. In disgrace and under God’s curse, man has tried his hardest, by way of technology, to make his life easier and to soften his disgrace, distanced himself from God. The technology we cant do much about but we can avoid distancing ourselves further from God’s glory, by accepting gladly the free gift he brought for us with the blood of Jesus. Then repay the gift by adhering to the Word of truth, listening to the Holy Spirit and show the Lord that we are trees that will bear fruit.
