Suffer The Little Children

Locked away in the dark for a deed that was wrong,
Robbed of the love for which all Children long,
With the fear and the heat it is so hard to breath,
He must wait for forgiveness. His cries to relieve.

The screams of abuse still ring in his ears,
He’s useless and stupid though still young in years,
He can do nothing right, he’s a dull witted pest,
There’s no pleasing his Parents, though he tries his best.

The punches and kicking impair his young frame,
His bones have been broken again and again,
Covered with bruised and stained with gore,
By the knuckle and boot he is wounded and sore.

Prodded with needles and burnt with the fire,
Tortured for punishment and tied up with wire,
The merciless beatings increase his woes,
The agony of childhood is all he knows.

Left by himself with no one to care,
It’s too much for a Toddler or young Child to bear,
Starving and cold he cries all alone,
For Mummy and Daddy to come back home.

This poor young fellow is but one of a lot,
Who don’t know the safety and warmth of the cot,
They don’t have a home of comfort and love,
Only pain and betrayal, a push or a shove.

To the Enemies influence their Parents succumb,
To his wiles and his ways their senses are numb,
And without the Lord to repair the pain,
In fear and in hurt these poor kids shall remain.

AUTHORS NOTE:
Every day we read it in the papers or see it on the Nightly News. We, although angered by the pointless and cruel abuse of defenceless Children, must remember that the abusers are God’s children too and Jesus died for them as well as you and me. If you need to pour out your rage, pour it out on the Enemy, because it’s his work the abusers are doing.
